IronSocket Review

Let us start our IronSocket evaluation with a little history of their privacy service. They began in the VPN and proxy space in 2005 with the production of the site HideMyNet.com. At HMN, the owners and personnel started building the VPN and proxy facilities to let users browse the Internet anonymously and remove approximate censorship from anywhere. Slowly, they developed technical and network services to construct and run an excellent VPN service constructed on customer support. In 2013, they re-branded their innovations and broadened their network to supply a trusted, support oriented, privacy service and IronSocket was born.
Their objective is to produce a next generation DNS and VPN provider that is simple to use and offers strong customer support at an excellent cost. IronSocket is owned and run by Pusa and Daga Limited. They undergo the jurisdiction and laws governing Hong Kong.

Pricing and Guarantee

There are 3 subscription plans available with the longer term plans offering discounts. For one month, it costs $6.99 while for six months you can enjoy 14% discount which is only $35.99. If you decide to use IronSocket for a full year, you will get 40% discount which is $49.95.

IronSocket has numerous payment methods available including payment through gift cards and Bitcoin. The only bad thing is that they don’t offer a free trial. That said, most major VPN providers don’t.  But it does offer a 7-day refund policy.  If for any factor, you are not entirely pleased with their service, they will reimburse your payment completely. You should ask for a refund of your membership charge within 7 days of registering for their service. No refunds will be provided after this 7 day period. Those who acquire by BitCoin or present card are not qualified for this warranty.

Privacy and Security

IronSocket makes it completely clear that they do not log any use of their subscribers while on their network.  But certain information is collected while the service is being used, including the user’s IP address and the server that they connect to. However, this session information is regularly purged from the company’s servers, usually after 72 hours. Like many other VPN services, they also provide OpenVPN, L2TP, and PPTP protocols. Besides, they offer strong encryption which uses AES 256-bit encryption with SHA256 message authentication (this is the default configuration), and they offer light encryption which uses Blowfish 128-bit encryption to protect your data. This level is less secure but allows for faster transfer speeds. In addition, there’s a no encryption option given for you when you want to maximize your download speeds but be warned there is no privacy when your connection is not encrypted. Users are able to select the encryption way they want.

IronSocket Speed Test

Speaking of its speed, IronSocket has a solid performance that will allow you to stream media content without major delays. You can also enjoy internet browsing without any issues. In general, the servers in the network are fast and reliable and it is easy to connect to them. Even though it’s far away from your location, there is no problem to connect to it. This VPN has 68 servers located in 36 countries which include includes New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, Panama, Argentina, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Egypt, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Germany, United States and Japan.

Customer Service Support

IronSocket claims it offers 24/7 customer support, but we do not see a live chat feature on its website.  It just allows users to submit a ticket. The worse thing is there’s no phone number to call. So if you need a quick response, it may be difficult. They usually reply within several hours, depending on the query. However, there’s FAQs section on the website which consists of information about the service. At least it will help you a little more but when it comes to troubleshooting, FAQs seems not working.

IronSocket is one of the most affordable VPNS you can find.  Unlike those popular VPN services, it does not offer custom software, which means that the installation process is a bit more complicated. However, they provide helpful guides to set up the service on a wide range of devices and operating systems. It supports Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS and Linux. The price for this VPN is very favorable. And with its consistent and high quality performance and no usage logs policy, they still present pretty attractive packages to their clients.
